No, not all appliances qualify for the program. All appliances must meet program efficiency requirements as established by ENERGY STAR®.
The rebates for eligible appliances are as follows:
Clothes Washers: $225
Refrigerators: $275
Water Heaters (Gas Storage that meet 2010 ENERGY STAR® criteria, Heat Pump and Gas Tankless varieties only): $300
The U.S. Department of Energy, through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, awarded the Arkansas Energy Office (AEO) $2.74 million to launch an ENERGY STAR® Appliance Rebate Program. The program is intended to stimulate the economy by encouraging consumers to replace older, less efficient appliances with new, more energy-efficient ENERGY STAR® qualified models. The replacement of older appliances saves families money, helps protect the environment, stimulates the economy and creates jobs.
Program-approved vendors have agreed to take old appliances picked up through the program out of service and recycle them. Click here to view a list of program-approved vendors.
Consumers are required to replace their old appliance with a new ENERGY STAR® qualified appliance to be eligible for a rebate. Program-approved vendors will provide documentation to the consumer to use to verify that the vendor fulfilled the haul-away requirement.
Any Arkansas residential consumer who has a valid physical address, has purchased an eligible ENERGY STAR® qualified product and has replaced an existing appliance is eligible to apply for the rebate. Neither business customers nor business installations are eligible for the rebate program.
ENERGY STAR® appliances meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy. ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances use 10% to 50% less energy and water than standard appliances.  All ENERGY STAR® products feature the signature blue ENERGY STAR® logo on the front of the product and on the product packaging.
Participating vendors have signed agreements with the Arkansas Energy Office stating that certain federal program requirements will be met. For example, participating vendors guarantee that appliances replaced through the program will be properly disposed of according to federal requirements.
Participating vendors are listed on the AEO Web site.  If you are an interested vendor, please call the Energy Office at 501.682.7690. Click here to view a current list of participating vendors.
Rebated products were chosen based on a variety of factors including the state's climate zone, other rebate incentive programs, the energy and water savings per unit, existing ENERGY STAR® market share and cost effective program implementation.

ENERGY STAR® is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR®, saved enough energy in 2008 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 29 million cars - all while saving $19 billion on their utility bills. As an ENERGY STAR® partner, the Arkansas Energy Office (AEO) promotes continuous energy performance. AEO and ENERGY STAR® work together to bring you financial and technical assistance, tools and information to help better the environment through energy efficient practices and products.
